About this activity
Beginning with the pickup from your hotel at 10am, you will be taken to the local noble house to mark the start of spring. The colorful festival of Holi commemorates the victory of good over evil. People dance, sing, and smear colored powder and colored water on each other. Numerous legends and stories are associated with the celebration of the festival making the festival more exuberant and vivid. Participate and celebrate in the festival of colors and get once-in-a-lifetime experience. The Holi would be organized in Surya Villa, a heritage property turned villa for guests.
Upon arrival at the villa, your private group will be given a warm welcome by the noble hosts dressed in traditional Rajput attires such as 'dhoti' - 'kurta' and 'safa’s (Rajasthani turban) at their poolside courtyard. Later, you will be helped with getting dressed in the traditional clothing, the women in crisp white dress - 'kurti' (upper garment) and 'salwaar' (traditional pants), while men will adorn 'kurta' and pajama, and a turban for all (traditional head covering).
The celebrations take place at the courtyard of the villa by the poolside where traditional folk dancers will welcome you with 'changs' (a kind of tambourine), 'dholaks' (hand drum) and herbal colored powders along with 'pichkaris' (water guns). The celebrations end with a festive buffet lunch that includes authentic Rajasthani cuisine, desserts, beverages, and a bottle of beer for each person.
During your time here, be assured to enjoy the festival completely with local artists, performers, hotel staff and your royal hosts. Post lunch, your ecstatic Holi tour ends, and you are taken back to your hotel of origin.
