Jerusalem political walking tour

Our tour will start at the Jaffa Gate where you will be introduced to the different demographic groups in Jerusalem, the nature of Israeli control in the city, and the different national aspirations of Israeli and Palestinian national movements as well as the status of the different population groups. 

Entering the Old City, you will be provided an overview of the four quarters of the Old CIty, before continuing to the Jewish Quarter Using the backdrop of key Jewish quarter sites such as the broadwall, the cardo and the hurva synagogue, you will learn the Jewish/Zionist narrative and the depth of current and historic Jewish feeling towards Jerusalem. This will be cemented as you visit the Western Wall and look over the Temple Mount. 

Continuing into the Muslim quarter, you will hear the Islamic and Palestinian claim from a point overlooking the Al Aksa compound, the third holiest site in Islam and the key symbol of Palestinian nationalism. 

Continuing into the Christian quarter, we will consider the role of Christianity and local Christians in the conflict, and visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher where Jesus is believed to have been crucified and buried. 

Finally we will discuss possible solutions to the divided nature of the old city, Jerusalem, and the conflict generally
