About this activity

Divers meet at the Mala Launch ramp at 6:30 AM in Lahaina to check in and get fitted with rental gear. We do a short orientation and then it is off across the Au Au channel to the island of Lanai where we visit the almost untouched reefs and coastline. We often see dolphins and whales during the crossing. When we arrive at our first dive site for the day we do a short briefing and then suit up and dive the clear waters of Lanai.

As there are very few dive boats diving on Lanai we almost always have the whole dive site to ourselves. We do an approx 40 minute dive using our dive computers to depths of between 50 and 85'. After the first dive we do a short surface interval where we have a breakfast of fresh fruit, bagels and spread and juice or water and then we dive again to a depth of 50 to 70' for up to an hour.

After the dive we pull out of identification books and talk about what we saw on the return trip back to Maui. We usually get back to Maui by 12:15. Our daily whiteboard is posted and divers can see where we have been diving and what we have been seeing daily.
