This was an excellent tour to see many different archaeological sites of Athens. The 30 euro combo ticket was not included, but you are able to go to 7 different sites over a 5 day period. You see the Temple of Zeus, Acropolis, and Greek Agora on this tour and my husband and I were able to see other sites on our own as well. Demetra was our tour guide and she did a great job telling stories about the Greek myths, which were super interesting and fun to hear. Would definitely recommend this tour!
My husband and I were on a Mediterranean Cruise for our honeymoon and were only in Athens for a day, so we booked this tour to maximize our time in Athens. We are big fans of mythology and this tour combined history and mythology perfectly. We were able to explore various historic landmarks and hear both history and mythology surrounding these monuments. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, kind, and fun so we enjoyed spending 4+ hours with her throughout this tour, despite being in a hot and humid climate.
First of all, our tour guide Kostas, was very good in making sure the tour kept on schedule, we had plenty of shade and allowed us to ask questions. I recommend this tour for anyone looking for an introduction into the mythology behind athens.
Perfect tour for us! Ava was an amazing guide with great knowledge. Wear comfortable shoes for there is some walking involved. Doesn't include entrance tickets, but very easy to get them at the entrance! Ava was an amazing guide with great knowledge. She gave us ample time and fielded all of our questions. Great way to hit the highlights!
Great tour guide, doesn’t include entrance of 30 euros per person. Very mythological so if you looking for more of a historical tour then this one isn’t for you. If you looking for Greek mythology stories about the Gods. Then this is for you. Different and unique experience but lots of walking and gets very hot.
Nik was very knowledgeable and fielded questions easily. We chose this tour to get a perspective that is different from all the strictly historical tours. Nik explained the monuments and then told us why they were chosen and built from both a mythological and political viewpoint. It brought into focus why the ancient Greeks did what they did. I know a bit about history but Nik kept showing us things I didn’t know. Loved the tour!
So I was very excited about this tour and found myself quite disappointed. First I arrived at 8:30 and was ushered off immediately -- but no one told me that I had to buy a ticket. So I was late even though I had arrived at the appointed time --- quickly got my ticket and went to listen to the guide. I never learned her name --- perhaps she told everyone else while I was given my ticket. There were 14 in our group and several times our guide was so busy worrying about getting to the next place that she did not even check to see that people were there. There is one street that had to be crossed in exactly 20 seconds and not everyone made it across --- instead of waiting --- we just missed the next explanation --- And - the stories are rich with humor and love and passion - but our guide never cracked a smile - and even suggested that one person's question was irrelevant. clearly she was not having a lot of fun or I just didn't understand her manner. But wait -- it was not just me - at the end, several of us never even bothered to walk up to the Acropolis - it was so crowded and frustrating trying to figure out where we were supposed to be. Today, (the next day, I went up to the Acropolis with a friend at 4 pm --- it was delightfully empty and there was time to stroll and look around. My recommendation is don't go at the mid day - it is both hot and crowded then. And, for the guides please know that it is not just about the information - it is about having fun and sharing some joy. She knew her mythology -- still.... it could have been so much better.
Maria was great , very knowledgeable , patient and kind. We enjoyed the tour, she was warm with our kid and gave is valuable information . We are very grateful and happy about this.
We had a great tour guide who showed us. Many of the major land marks in he heart of Athens. The tour was based on mythology mixed with history. The teens found a bit too much history but loved the mythology. It is a great way to see the Acropolis
I really enjoyed this tour!! You got to hear the great mythological stories while learning some Athens history as well. My husband wasn't looking forward to this tour because he doesn't enjoy mythology like I do, but he was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it.
Awesome tour and guide! Definitely worth the money and great way to see all of the main attractions!
We did the tour on wednesday, 5/28 with a family of five on a group tour. Our tour guide was excellent! She was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic, telling us the mythology, and connecting the myth with history in a way that was very easy to understand and remember, and interesting stories and facts. We loved her and the tour. Highly recommend.
Alex was such a great tour guide my family was jealous when we saw him with other tourists. He has such a vast knowledge of Greek history with excellent English.
I'd like to start off by saying that we had went to about half of these sites the day prior at our leisure and with no guide. The difference between winging it and having an amazing guide like Kelly was substantial! I've always been intrigued by Greek mythology, and Kelly was fluent in all things Greek and mythology. Answered all of the guests questions and gave a detailed story at each site, linking modern day Athens and it's history in an interesting and intriguing way.Bring your most comfy pair of walking shoes, a bottle of water or two and be prepared to be impressed.Note that you will be required to buy an additional admission ticket for 30 euros for all of the sites you will visit (but well worth it). If you only have a day or two in Athens, this is worth your time.
The best tour and the best guide. Highly recommend. The guide was so passionate about explaining every single details. We just loved it.
Many people say Athens is just a lay over city to get to the islands. Don't listen to them. Athens is amazing and this specific tour of the Acropolis was amazing. I loved our tour guide, she was so full of life and was one of the best guides I've ever had. This tour offered both a mythological aspect and non mythological aspect. This is the tour you want to take.........
