Athens Night Segway Tour
3 h
By night
About this activity
Meet your local guide in the evening, when the Athens’ midday heat has gone and the daytime crowds have dispersed, and start your tour with an orientation session to get familiar with your two-wheeled, electric, self-balancing Segway. Once you feel comfortable, begin gliding along quiet streets to the foothills of the UNESCO-listed Acropolis of Athens – the ancient citadel and archeological site that dominates the city.
On the northeastern slopes of the Acropolis is the neighborhood of Plaka -- the city’s Old Town – that springs to life in the evening with its abundance of trendy bars and cafés. Continue through the bustling quarter of Monastiraki and glide past the ruins of Hadrian’s Library – a Corinthian structure built by the Roman emperor in 132 AD.
Just to the east of Monastiraki is the district of Thiseio, home to the Ancient Agora of Athens; once the heart of the ancient city, it is now a fascinating courtyard ruin. After stopping to take photos of the agora’s illuminated monuments like the Temple of Hephaestous, continue your tour past the New Acropolis Museum -- where countless artifacts from the citadel’s Archaic period are housed.
Weave down the slopes of the Acropolis, stopping briefly on Mars Hill to soak up panoramic nighttime city views, and then rest with a drink (own expense) in a bar in downtown Athens. From here, you’ll finish your evening Segway ride with an hour’s tour of the central city sights. See top Athens attractions beautifully lit up at night, like the Temple of Zeus and the Old Parliament House. Admire the classic buildings of Athens University and pass Panathinaikos Stadium (or Kalimarmaro Stadium) where the first modern Olympic Games were held.
After exploring the highlights of nighttime Athens with your guide, glide back to a location near to the start point where your tour ends.

Guide was fabulous, Seyways handled amazingly well. Great way to see Athens without all the Walking.
This was so much fun. First time for us but easy to learn. Great tour guide. Definitely would recommend for all. We saw so much of Athens
One of the most amazing segway tours me and my wife have done! We segway a lot and do it as our first activity usually on city breaks to get to know the lay of the land before the footwork. But doing the segway at night in ATHENS, come on! This is an experience on another level. I am so grateful to our host, she was amazing, fortunately because it was an evening tour, it was just me and my wife so we skipped the beginner's lessons and just got on with it, and she took us everywhere! and had time to stop everywhere and take the history in, she was so good at her history that when we stopped for the changing of the guard which is incredible sight and rich history, the soldier on site came over to commend her for giving accurate information unlike other tour guides It was amazing, thank you for a lovely experience.
So much fun- just my daughter and I, Costas was so patient and in no time we were zipping around Athens. He gave us a lot of info about sights we had seen earlier in the week and took us to places we would have never known about ourselves. Please give them a try!
Our tour guide Vera was wonderful and we had so much fun riding around the city after dark. It is very easy to learn to ride a Segway and only takes about 5 minutes. A fun way to get around.
