Our guide Mario was simply amazing. He was courteous and accommodating throughout the entire day. He has an incredible amount of knowledge, told funny stories and overall made us feel like we were being shown around town by a friend. The itinerary was super flexible and it packed so much information and sights into the experience. Worth every euro and more!
Tour was great, we hit the places we wanted to go. The guide was courteous, knowledgeable, and flexible. I'd highly recommend this tour if you have a day in Athens and want to get the most out of it.
What a fantastic tour we had with WarmPenguin tour company. You have to ask for Melina, a super knowledgeable tour guide and so much fun. Took us everywhere we wanted to go and knew how to time everything so we wouldn’t miss the boat. Had so many interesting facts, Alison with some fun stories. Our bus driver Vasislis was fantastic. I would highly recommend both of them and WarmPenguin touring company
Dimitri, our guide, was just amazing!! Not only he knew how to explain and what to touch upon to make it and keep it interesting, but most importantly he was just a genuine personable good guy! We sincerely enjoy to get to know him, his great Greek culture and the little bit of Athens we saw that day. Overall, the tour is a good way to see a lot in a short period of time. Good tour if you have little time in Athens or as your first day to give a good taste of the city.
Our guide (Nicholas) picked us up at our hotel for a full day tour. From the time he picked us up in a Mercedes until the time he dropped us back off at the hotel was amazing. Nicholas was the perfect guide and adapted the agenda to meet our interests. He got us to each stop before the big tour busses arrived so we did not have to fight those crowds. Everything was so comfortable and truly amazing. I would not change one thing about this tour. It was perfect and that was mostly due to Nicholas and his hospitality. The only down side was that this was our first tour before our 2 week cruise. Every tour after this one we kept saying "I wish we had Nicholas!" It really spoiled us for every other tour.
Rather disappointed. We chose this tour so we could see some of the Athens countryside and that did not happen because the traffic in Athens was RIDICULOUS and our driver WAY too timid. He also should have been more directive of what we could or could not realistically do given the nightmare traffic situation. However, he was wonderful in getting us as close to the sights we did see to make it easier on my mid 80's parents. Also, we paid for the Acropolis museum skip the line tickets and the museum was free the day we went which I think Viator should have known!
The guide was very knowledgable and super informative. The sights we saw were beyond incredible and it was the highlight of our trip.
Tour guide met us at cruise port upon arrival in Athens, full day tour to all the major highlights plus additional visits to local sites. Guide well dressed; great English: and knowledge of Grecian history. Dropped us at airport hotel at end of day. Great tour and guide!!
This was a great tour. We had an excellent driver - I am probably butchering his name, but I think it was Vasilius or something similar. He was fantastic - spoke great English, gave us lots of history, drove very well in a nice comfortable car and did everything he said he would. He was very friendly and great to talk to and was very well prepared. He had a map to show us where we were, a book with pictures to prepare us for what we were going to see and other info and pictures on an iPad that he showed us. Overall, this is a tour that I highly recommend. Athens is not a very nice city in the center, but we got to see other parts of Athens which were great. We also hired a guide for Acropolis and the museum through this same company and paid another Euro 140 for her. I cannot recall her name, but about 15 minutes after meeting her, I regretted the decision to also hire a guide. She was very boring and monotonous. She ran ahead of us everywhere and we then had to try and catch up. She would stop, talk to us and then run off. It seemed that she was trying to finish in time for another appointment. If I stopped to take a picture, by the time we were done, she was 100 years ahead of us. I would have preferred to leisurely walk around at my own pace than follow a guide who was rushing to finish up with us. What she told us was interesting, but way too long at times and not told in a way that made is easy to follow or remember.
We saw all of the top sights in Athens and the Temple of Poseidon which has amazing views. The temple is about 1.5 hours out of Athens but it is a nice drive along the coast and there are some great places to stop for lunch. Our tour guide was very informative and friendly. I definitely recommend this tour if you have limited time in Athens.
