Cycling Paklenica National Park

Cycling Paklenica National Park is the best way to explore the Paklenica Riviera. We start from the Hotel Vicko and bike through small villages under the mountain. The road will take us to the entrance of the Paklenica National Park from where we will take a walk to the archaeological site of Paklari fort where the prehistoric and medieval ceramics were discovered. It is believed that the fort was built in the late Middle Ages and its role was to supervise the important communication from the sea through Paklenica to Lika and back. While standing on the fort, we will enjoy a magnificent view of the Paklenica Riviera. From there we will follow an educational trail along the border of the NP that will lead us through old villages all the way to Reljan village. The educational trail A Short Journey through History is a part of a pedestrian and bike trail. It is equipped with five educational/informative panels presenting the history of the area from prehistoric times to the present day. On our way back to Starigrad, we will use small roads and enjoy the view. There also might be time for swimming and relaxing on one of the beaches while cycling Paklenica Park.
