Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge Indigenous Cultural Cruise
4h30
About this activity
Our Cultural Safari Tours combine the knowledge of our River Guides, with the lifestyle of our Cultural Team.
Groups of up to 8 guests will be guided through gorges, and along the way, they will receive information from our Tour Guide as well as a first hand cultural perspective from our Cultural Staff Member.
There will be time to view ancient Jawoyn RockArt, and be shown traditional customs used in generations passed – some of which are still used today!
Depending on the time of year, a chance for a refreshing swim may even be possible.
Tour Includes: Picnic Breakfast & your choice of cold drinks
Travel Notes:
• There is a walking of approx. 500m during the tour between the gorges (each way). This is made up of stairs (with handrails) and uneven surfaces.
• Additional walking may be required to access seasonal swimming locations along rocky, natural paths
• The Jawoyn Culture identifies customs as either women’s or men’s business, therefore discussion points will be focused around the gender of the Cultural Team Member on board.
• This tour is not suitable for guests with mobility issues.
• Drinking water and toilet facilities are available on board
Boarding commences 15-minutes prior to departure at the Nitmiluk Boat Jetty, please allow approximately 30-minutes travel time from the township of Katherine.
