Day 1 : Drive to Sundarijal ( 1 hour) and Trek to Chisapani. 2300 meters. 5 hours.
After breakfast, we drive to Sundarijal (2200m) on a private vehicle. Upon reaching Sundarijal we start our day hiking through Mulkharka village with Tamang habitants passing many forest and trek up to east ridge to Shivapuri forest of oaks and rhododendron to Chisopani (2300m) Overnight in Guest house in Chisapani.
Day 2 : Trek to Nagarkot. 6 hours.
In the morning you are attracted by the northern mountain views. Your trek starts to Chauki Bhanjag, which takes about 2 and half hours. You continue the charming trails leading you toward Nagarkot. Nagarkot, (2175m) is by far one of the most popular destination. In the clear weather the Himalaya range, stretching from Dhaulagiri in the west all the way past Everest to Kanchenjunga in the east, emerges from the darkness to greet the happy visitor with its awe inspiring majesty and beauty. We enjoy the sunset at mountains from the Nagarkot hill station. Nagarkot itself is popular among urban people of Kathmandu as a nearby destination to spend weekends enjoying magnificent & panoramic views of many Himalayan ranges including the 8,848 meters high top of the world Mt. Everest. We go to bed rather early as we also need to catch tomorrow’s mountain sunrise view too.
Day 3 :Trek to Changu (3 hours) and drive back to Kathmandu.
We wake up early to see sunrise through the eastern Himalayan ranges including Mt. Everest. After breakfast, we start our hiking to Changunarayan. Passing through the terraced fields, dense Tamang ocher colored traditional villages. It is amazing to see how the village so close to capital city Kathmandu still exhibits traditional lifestyle like that of remote villages. On the first part of the hiking we experience culture & life style of the native people on the trail. You many even have chance to see local people people making local wine called “Raksi”, prepared by a simple process of distillation. Second part of the hiking is more natural, passing through deciduous forest, a close watch to flora & fauna. The best of all is panorama of distant snow capped mountains in the back drop of these entire natural setting. Finally we reach Cahngunarayan, an oldest pagoda style temple in Kathmandu that is also a UNESCO world heritage site. Changunarayan temple is a outstanding master pieces of stoned sculpture. As our hiking ends here, we spend some time exploring temple area, later we drive back to Kathmandu.
