Kathmandu Durbar square is an ancient royal palace. You can learn about Nepali monarchy system and visit Kumari (the living goddess) from here. Swoyambhunath is a Buddhist site lies on the top of the hill from where you can see the view of Kathmandu valley and learn about Tibetan Buddhism. It is known as monkey temple. Bauddhanath is another Buddhist site which was established from 4th/5th centuries. Bauddhanath stupa is the highest stupa of Nepal which is made in Mandala architecture. Another site to visit is Pashupatinath temple which is a historical and famous Hindu temple where you can see cremation of Hindu people and learn about Nepali cremation system and rituals.
