Kathmandu Durbar Square:
Kathmandu Durbar Square is situated at the heart of the Kathmandu surrounded with many artistic temples, different section of palaces, spectacular art images and other unique construction. The main palace was built in 14th century whereas some of the British looks to the building was given in late 18the century. This Durbar Square is a historical seat of royalty where the kings are crowned and their coronations are solemnized. UNESCO noticed its importance and listed it as one of the world heritage sites in 1997.
Swayambhunath Stupa:
Situated at the hilltop, Swayambhunath Stupa is a legendary Buddhist shrine. The stupa has a white lofty white dome and a glittering golden spire. On the top of the dome are the famous painted eyes of the Buddha gazing in the four directions. Swayambhunath is also known as the monkey temple due to the numerous holy monkeys that roam the temple grounds. The beautiful view of the city is what rejoices you the most.
Boudhanath Stupa:
Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupa found in Nepal and also the holiest of all Buddhist temples outside of Tibet. This stupa stands at a height of 36 meters. It is huge. The stupa stands upon the three layered pedestal, having the shape of Mandala. It is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites in Kathmandu where one can observe traditional Tibetan lifestyle.
Pashupatinath temple:
The magnificent temple of Pashupatinath, situated approximately 5 km north east of Kathmandu is the oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu and its one of the major site for Hindu pupils. With a sprawling collection of temples, ashrams, images and inscriptions rose over the centuries along the bank of Bagmati River, it is a sacred temple of deity; Lord Shiva. It is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites. Non Hindu visitors are not allowed to enter inside the temple premises but there is enough space outside the main entrance where one can visit, take pictures and see what it actually is.
Patan Durbar Square:
Like the other cities, Patan had it its own monarch in the age of 14th century and they had their own interest and capability. The wooden art and the stone carving shows how beautifully people had worked here to live their king in a luxurious way. The main royal palace is now acts as museum but all other supporting blocks, courtyard and the different temples surrounding the palace has so many things to show you in advance. The Durbar is a marvel of Newa architecture and is listed under UNESCO world heritage sites.
