Shivapuri National Park Day Hike from Kathmandu

Depart from Thamel, Kathmandu and take a full day hike to Shivapuri National Park. At morning you be picked up from your hotel by our company's guide and drive. Then drive around 20 minutes to Budanilkantha. There is a pond where large staute of Lord Bishnu is found reclining. Uphill drive and reach the gate of Shivapuri National Park which is government protected area. After the entry pass, we hike to the to Nagi Gumba, the buddhist monastery where nun can practice Buddhism. This is a perfect place for visit and doing meditation. The place is pristine and serene with beautiful scenery. Many tourist visit this monastery for meditation and exploring Shivapuri. The trail to the top of Shivapuri peak is narrow through forested area. We reach to the landmark called Bhagdwar, the origin of Bagmati River. From here, uphill climb takes you to the top of the Shivapuri Peak. The Langtang series as well as other mountains, the never ending green hills and the Kathmandu Valley below can be seen on a clear day.The guide will be explaining all the major landmarks and the scene that could be seen throughout the trip. After scenery feast we hike down to the entry point. We drive back to the hotel.
