Meet Shamim, one of the most fascinating souls and an avid traveler. She lives in a beautiful home with a riverfront view and a charming garden overflowing with fruit and orchids.
After your welcome drink of garden-fresh lime juice or refreshing coconut water, roll up your sleeves and join Shamim in the kitchen overlooking the river. Learn to prepare 2-3 traditional Muslim Kerala dishes along with help from her loyal staff. You will learn to make dishes from rich and creamy seafood curries to light and refreshing vegetable accompaniments.
You will get to enjoy an array of dishes in the traditional Kerala Muslim cuisine that may include chattipathiri (a traditional Malayali Muslim dish of layered seasoned beef and pancakes), pathiri (round paper-thin, rice flour bread), ney chor (a fragrant rice lightly coated in ghee), sharkapuli (an addictively delicious mango and tamarind accompaniment to the rice), Malabar chicken curry made with Kerala spices and coconut milk, and to end, semiya payasam, cardamom-infused milk with vermicelli, raisins and cashews. Experience dining with you host while learning about Kerala culinary and cultural heritage. Leave with a true glimpse into a local's life, new recipes, and lifelong memories.
