Durga puja celebration is incomplete and unfinished without the Bhog. Most of the puja committees in the city organise the Durga Puja as per the Bangla tradition and Bhog is one of the most important features of this traditional celebration, which adds the flavour of Bengal to the Puja celebrations. The taste of the bhog is eternal and when it is served in kulhars its taste enhances,
It is said that when a devotee savours the bhog or the mahaprasad it takes the devotees closer to the divine. The khichri (bhog) tastes quite different from the one that is prepared at homes. “We offer Khichri, Kheer and Poori to goddess Maa Durga during the three days of Saptami, Astami and Navami along with the bhog which is distributed among the devotees. Thousands of devotees get the blessings of Maa Durga in the form of bhog every year with the largest crowd teeming in mind boggling numbers on the day of Navami!!
