Santosh Mitra Square Durga Puja Committee is going to spring a surprise this year with a 10ft Durga idol made of gold. The idol will be placed in a pandal that will be a replica of Seeshmahal, a famous fort in Jaipur.
It seems that if things work out according to plans, Santosh Mitra Square Durga Puja will be the costliest celebration among all big-budget Pujas across the city. The cost of the idol has been pegged at Rs 18 crore, said a member of the puja committee that will also spend more than Rs 1 crore on pandal decorations
