About this activity
Departing from Krakow in the morning, visit the site of Auschwitz, which was formerly the largest German concentration camp during World War II. Auschwitz is located on the outskirts of the Polish town of Ośiwięcim, approximately a 1-hour drive from Krakow. A documentary about the camp will be shown on the drive there, and the guided tour will be with an English-speaking guide, who will tell you more about the tragedies of World War II and the many lives lost at Auschwitz-Birkenau.
In addition to the two main camps, Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau, there is also a state museum, established by the Polish government in 1947. There are many artifacts on display here, including personal possessions of the prisoners that were brought here. The museum also researches the Holocaust and is devoted to the memory of the individuals who were murdered there.
This tour begins and ends in Krakow. After, spend your evening at Klezmerhojs, a Jewish cafe in the center of the former Jewish district, Kazimierz. Here you will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique evening of original Klezmer music and traditional Jewish food.

The concentration camps are moving and extremely important part of history. Unfortunately this tour was extremely rushed. The good news is people from all over the world want to learn. The bad news is the place is packed and you are pushed through like cattle. Which is sadly ironic for the location. Highly suggest if you want to spend time here do a private tour. As for the dinner concert, FABULOUS! However FAULTY advertising. The description said transportation included. Turns out that meant Auschwitz only, NOT dinner. THIS NEEDS TO BE CLARIFIED ON INCLUSION/EXCLUSION. So expect to pay for separate transportation costs to dinner.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Auschwitz was as it is, sad but an experience in itself, followed later with the Klezmer music concert and dinner ends the day on a traditional, happy note enjoyed by all. The food was amazing.. N.B the tour picks up at the hotel for Auschwitz but you find your own way back and to dinner experience which we did not expect but still worth it.
I enjoyed this tour and with dinner included it was good value. Birkenau was very good I can't say I enjoyed it. It is a place of sadness but I felt that the visit was good because by visiting it it brings home to you that this can't be allowed to ever happen again
