Very interesting but overall found the tour went on a bit long, although I can fully understand the reason behind this, as it enables you to see all aspects of the mine.
Easy pick up from our hotel by an excellent driver and taken the 25min journey to the Salt mines. The driver collected our tickets and handed us over to one of the Salt Mine tour guides. The tour guide was excellent, his English was impeccable and he was very knowledgable about the Salt mines. The tour took about 3 hours and the driver then took us back to the city. The whole day was about 5 hours long. The taxi to the Salt mines there was 6 people but the tour of the Salt mines consisted of about 15 people.
The Salt mine was an excellent tour with lots of really interesting information from our guide Michael. I can confirm that the walls actually do taste like salt! It's incredible all of the statues and the chandeliers made from the salt. Our favourite part was probably listening to Chopin by the salt water. We'd definitely recommend a visit and perhaps if we went again, we'd take the advice of our guide at a different tour and count the steps on the way down stops you feeling so dizzy! Recommendations: try and stick closer to the guide as sometimes the earphones cut out due to signal being underground so we didn't always hear what was being said, but what we did catch was very funny/interesting and we'd recommend Michael!
Tour was brilliant very interesting and I would thoroughly recomend it. Expert guide who was very knowledgeable and funny. We were picked up from our hotel and driven to the salt mine by a very friendly drive who was there to meet us after our tour finished and drove us back to our hotel
A lot of steps ! Was good but only for those able to walk down a lot of steps!
