About this activity
Following pickup from your hotel lobby in the morning, join a small group by minivan for the drive to Independence (Merdeka) Square. Learn about this site that commemorates the end of British rule and the birthplace of a nation, and see the Sultan Abdul Samad building and the Tudor-style Royal Selangor Club.
Continue your full-day tour of Kuala Lumpur with a photo stop at the Petronas Twin Towers, once the tallest building in the world. If you wish, get a bird’s-eye view of the Malaysian capital (entrance fee not included), before another photo op in front of the Royal King’s Palace. Drive past Perdana Botanical Garden (aka Lake Gardens) before arriving at the National Monument, which commemorates the country's struggle for independence. You'll pass through Chinatown and Central Market as well.
Next up is the Old Railway Station, built during British colonization and a stunning emblem of Moorish-inspired architecture. Another stop is made at the Royal Selangor Visitor Factory for insight into the production of this well-known brand; children can try their hand at shaping their own piece of pewter while you shop.
Your guide accompanies you to the Batu Caves where 272 steps take you to the temple entrance. See Hindu shrines along with plenty of resident monkeys.
On the way back to Kuala Lumpur, you will stop at a local batik center that offers reasonable prices and a quality batik selection. If you're feeling artistic, take the opportunity to create your own batik masterpiece (own expense). Afterward, you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Tour was ok. The guide was friendly and nice and took us for a good banana leaf indian meal at Batu caves. But again, the amount of upselling is insane. Also, the tour is pricey for what is included, so I would skip it and just go to Batu yourself.
It was actually a private tour. We got transferred from our hotel to the main hub where our driver/guide met us. The visit to the Royal Selangor and the Batik shop was very interesting. The sites we were taken to visit were actually quite nice too...it was just a tad too hot outside for it but otherwise I would recommend this tour for a quick visit to the main attractions.
