After breakfast depart for the Kuala Gandah from hotel at 9.30am (Drive time 2 hours) enroute bonus stop at the famous Batu Caves - a limestone outcrop. Climb 272 steps into the temple of Hindu Deity, who is honored during the Hindu festival of Thaipusam every year. The journey continues to the Cascading Waterfalls for a photo shoot and a place where locals go for a cool dip. Souvenirs, tribal handicrafts, strange herbs, various fruits not forgetting aphrodisiacs are available at the shops.

Kuala Gandah Elephant conservation was established in 1989 by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks. The center is a base for the Elephant Relocation Team, which began the elephant translocation programme in 1974. The only one of its kind in Malaysia, the team is dedicated to locating, subduing and then translocating problem elephants from areas where their habitats are constantly being encroached by plantations and to other suitable habitats throughout the Peninsular such as Taman Negara. Over the past 25 yrs the centre has helped prevent the further declined of the elephant population by relocating more than 300 wild elephants.
