The Palace is not accessible for the public or tourists. It was opened in 2011 and replaced the old Istana Negara which was located at a different compound in central Kuala Lumpur. The complex blends the Islamic and Malay architectural. You can only have a photo stop at the main gate guarded by the Calvary Guards. Beware of the weather in Malaysia as this is a vast and non-covered square area which will cause difficulties in your photoshoot activities during rainy days.
