A fascinating blend of Portuguese, Dutch and British influences have made Malacca one of the most popular tourist destinations in Malaysia. We will visit Portuguese Square also referred to as 'Mini Lisbon' followed by A Famosa, a tiny gate is what is left of a once mighty Portuguese fortress are major attraction not to be missed. It is the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Asia. Its rich historical background earned it a "World Heritage Site" designation in July 2008. We will explore St. Peter’s church before enjoy a truly Malaccan local lunch at the Peranakan Restaurant. Keep your spirits high as you see other fascinating spots around Malacca. Lastly, enjoy shopping at the famous Jonker Walk bazaar which sells lots of interesting handicraft and souvenirs. In late afternoon, our driver will transfer you back to your hotel in Kuala Lumpur safely.

A central fountain dominates the area: it is an ornate Victorian marble addition, erected in 1904 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. One of the oldest surviving parts of Malacca, Dutch Square’s most prominent building is the Stadthuys. Presiding over the entire south side of Dutch Square it was completed in 1660 and is said to be the oldest-existing Dutch building in the East.

What you will like about Red Square it is the atmosphere like a carnival square where you find many tourists and locals like those from other states of Malaysia, overseas tourists other than Singapore like China, Taiwan even Indonesia, European and American tourists. The hustle and bustle of the tourists posing and snapping photos; those souvenirs shops crowded with souvenirs hunters so overwhelming. Not forgetting the vibrant colorful trishaws enticing tourists with blaring hit songs. This area is extremely photogenic so make sure your camera battery is fully charged.

Jonker Walk is flanked on both sides of the road with heritage houses dating back up to the 17th century. At that time, rich Baba Nonyas (also known as Perankans, descendents of 15th - 16th century Chinese immigrants marrying local Malay women) lived and did their business here. Today, the street houses many shops selling antiques, textiles, handicrafts and souvenirs (similar to what you can find at Central Market in Kuala Lumpur). On the weekends, starting Friday night at 6pm, the road is closed off for traffic and turns in a very crowded night market.
