Small-Group Best of Ephesus Tour from Kusadasi Port
1 day

About this activity
Meeting point is Kusadasi port (your guide would be waiting at the pier holding a sign with your name). After half a hour driving, the first site on our program is the House of Virgin Mary. It is believed that she was brought here by St. John and that she spent her last years in this area. We usually spend 45 minutes in this site.
After you get all the necessary information from your guide, you will have enough time to explore the site on your own. Afterwards, there is 15 minute drive to Ephesus. You will start your Ephesus visit from the upper site gate. During this 2 hour visit you will have chance to learn about the history of Ephesus and see the highlights of this site: Odeon, Celsus Library, Great Theatre, Hercules Gate, Latrines - public toilettes. As you would have enough time to walk around and take photos, you can visit the Terrace Houses (houses of rich Ephesians; additional entrance fee is (20 Turkish Lira per person which is about 4 euros). The guide can give you general information about this area, and daily life of the Romans. On the way back to the port, we would make the last stop in the Temple of Artemis, and spend about 30 minutes here. There is not much left to see on the site, but the history of this Ancient world is very interesting. If group members are interested in local handicrafts, we can make short stop in ceramic or carpet workshop (OPTIONAL). Tour ending point is Kusadasi port.
