Stop At: Tofukuji Temple, 15-chōme-778 Honmachi, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto, 605-0981, Japan
First we'll head to one of the city’s must-see sights, the Tofukuji Temple. Originally built in the 13th century, and famous for its traditional, yet modern, Zen garden, this is a great place to escape to a relaxed atmosphere in the city. Learn about the origin and inspiration for the garden, and what it means to the monks who continue to live and study here.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Fushimi Inari Taisha, 68 Fukakusa Yabunouchichō, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0882, Japan
Next we walk through a nice local residential neighbourhood to the Fushimi Inari Shrine. Home to a seemingly endless stretch of iconic red torii gates spread across a thickly wooded mountain, this shrine is a world unto itself. Walk through snaking corridors of red gates, made famous in the film Memoirs of Geisha, stopping to admire the shrines and many fox statues. Major photo opportunity alert!
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Gionmachi, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto 605-0001 Kyoto Prefecture
As the sun begins to set on the Toriis, we leave behind the foxes and head to Gion, famously known as Kyoto’s Geisha district. This area was the model for Memoirs of Geisha, and it comes alive with people and lights in the evening. Stroll past the 17th-century traditional restaurants and teahouses, many of which are still exclusive establishments for Geisha entertainment, see the theatres and traditional shops, and soak up the atmosphere of this historic quarter.

We had a very informative and good experience!!Would recommend Very Highly!!The Guide was very well Informed!
Tours are dependent on the guide and I gave Julian an average as to knowledge of Japan's culture. He seemed like a student working as a guide on the side. I have nothing about students cum tourist guides, but, at least, know some interesting facts about what you are showing your audience, not just wing it. His suggestion to take the city bus back to Kyoto Station was a disaster -we were packed like sardines on the bus and it took more passengers along the way. I would have preferred to take the train back to Kyoto Station.
The tour and the guide themselves were great know issues there .But when u are new to a country and don't your way around .Wgen it says u will return back to wherevsyarted make sure that happens because in my case it didn't took us a couple of our to find our way home
The trip suppose to be perfect, but the guide wasn't ready to lead us. Poor English and no additional information at all. Seems like she was not prepared.
The tour guide was informative and the tour covers a lot of ground. It would be beneficial for the tour to start a tad later for the afternoon times so that we can arrive to the Geisha town as the Geishas are arriving. I was disappointed that we got all the way there and were told we'd have to hang out at the end of the tour to see if we spot any.
I went on a walking tour with my sister. This tour was great from start to finish. We had an amazing tour guide called Yuta, who made the three hour tour worth every penny. He was a very humourous and nice man who went out of his way to make sure we got the best out of our tour. The fact that the tour was small made it more intimate. We were able to see parts of Kyoto that you normally would not be able to see. We were even lucky enough to get a glimpse of a Maiko and two Geisha's. I would highly recommend this tour. I once again want to take this moment to thank Yuta for being such an amazing guide .
Awesome walking tour with outstanding guide. I loved the Gion district and the history the guide provided. Highly recommend.
Knowledgeable guide and it was great to see some of the things that we normally wouldn't be able to on our own
Time well spent! The tour was great and our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a nice walk and a great way to experience the local culture.
This tour was really good. He was extremely informative and took us to some major areas of Kyoto and explained the culture and gave us some really great info on Kyoto.
