Kyoto Food and Booze Safari
3 h
About this activity
Imagine: you’ve been out and about visiting temples and shrines in Kyoto non-stop since 8 in the morning. It’s now 4 in the afternoon! Don’t you think it’s time for you to take a break with a fresh drink and some typical Kyoto delicacies? Come on, you deserve it.
You say: where’s the best place for a pub crawl; what do I order and who can show me a good time in Kyoto? With us as masters of ceremony you’re in good hands. We’ve been on a mission to taste the best booze and food from Kyoto for decades.
We start our yummy safari with a 1 hour visit to the Nishiki food market where we will help you make sense of the local produce unseen outside of Japan. We then make our way to the neighborhood’s “Tachinomiya” (standing bar). The place is run by a liquor shop so the selection of alcohol is unrivaled. Tucked between vending machines, you wouldn’t find the place even if you walked in front of it. Finally, we end the festivities with a modern Yakitori (chicken skewers) known for its selection of “Ji-sake” (locally produced japanese sake).
