COSTA VICENTINA ALGARVE WALK TOUR

Day 1: The arrival

We will transfer you to the first accommodation in Odeceixe, Casas do Moinho Bed & Breakfast which invites you to the true beauty. We will brief you fully and provide you a GPS with the tracks and a mobile phone for emergencies. Enjoy the silence, the swimming pool or the village.

Day 2: Discover Odeceixe

Your hiking adventure starts in Odeceixe. Walk along the Seixe river and discover the Odeceixe beach, with its small sand peninsula. Continue on along the coast and experience the wild ocean ploughing into the rocks. As you arrive in Odeceixe, have a rest and enjoy a delicious typical meal. Sleep in Casas do Moinho (13km, + 300m)

Day 3: From Odeceixe to Aljezur

Start this day alongside the river Seixe and the wetlands until you get to Odeceixe beach. The trail over the ocean will let you wander and offer superb views of the beach. Head to the interior, passing through the fields where you will see a lot of sweet potato, which this place is famous for! Sleep in Herdade Monte do Sol (23km, + 600m)

Day 4: Enjoy the beach at Monte Clerigo and meet Arrifana

Monte Clérigo, from where your walk goes by the coast, passing by the mythical Ponta da Atalaia, a fantastic promontory where we can see many ruins of an ancient Moorish fortress. The trail after this point carries until the beautiful village of Arrifana.

Day 5: The treasures of Carrapateira 

As you walk along the coast, find Pedra da Agulha, a gorgeous boulder in the ocean. End up at the white washed village Carrapateira, where history speaks through the fortress. Pedralva is a little village, nearly deserted a few years ago, and now revived as charming guest house. Sleep at Pedralva Village (18km, + 400m)

Day 6: Village of Pedralva

On this day, between ocean and land, the rural atmosphere will conquer your heart. Explore the little village of Pedralva, its charm and traditions.

Day 7:The heritage of Vila do Bispo

Starting smoothly crossing some forest and open land areas. Later by the beaches of Barriga, Cordoama and Castelejo, the biodiversity is all around with reptiles, birds, mammals and amphibious. In the end you will arrive at Vila do Bispo town.

Sleep at Casa Mãe (18km, + 400m)

Day 8: Sagres 

The landscape is flat and the vegetation low. Today you will be walking towards the most southwestern point of Continental Europe, where you have a small but excellent Museu dos Faróis, showcasing Sagres’ role in Portugal’s maritime history! After the walk you will be transferred to beautiful Lagos.

Sleep at Casa Mãe. (14km, + 200m)

Day 9 : Departure 

t’s time to say goodbye and we will pick you up and transfer you to the airport.
