About this activity
Stroll through the rich sights of the Cultural Landscape of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to the Royal Palace, the Village of Sintra and the forests of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, you can enjoy the authentic Sintra bakery and the spectacular coastal view of Cabo da Roca.
Experience an unforgettable afternoon as you head north of Lisbon to the Sintra Cultural Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the Royal Palace, Portugal's best preserved medieval palace. Located in the very village of Sintra, the Royal Palace was continuously inhabited from the 15th century until the end of the 19th century and was the recreation of Portuguese royalty. You will quickly identify the conical chimneys of the palace and enjoy the rich collection of tiles.
Like the rest of Portugal, Sintra takes their sweets very seriously. Follow the crowd to a narrow street near Piriquita. Since 1862, this confectioner and popular coffee serves sumptuous cakes and sweet.
The Feast of the Senses continues as we pass the lush gardens of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, following the Cape of the Rock (1 March to 31 October), the most western point of continental Europe.
Then immerse yourself in the ocean views as you travel along the coast, past Guincho Beach, a favorite of windsurfing, and Boca do Inferno, a natural grotto created by the sea. When you arrive in Cascais, you will enjoy the panoramic view over the bay. Then we will return to Estoril, the Protuguese Riviera, with Europe's largest casino and its beautiful gardens.
