Visit Parque Eduardo VII of England, the largest park in the center of Lisbon. It was baptized in 1903 in honor of Edward VII of England, who had visited Lisbon last year to reaffirm the alliance between the two countries. Until then, it was called Freedom Park. Stroll through Graca Neighborhood, one of the oldest neighbourhoods of Lisbon, known and sought after for their Viewpoints, where you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the city. Here, the viewpoint of Senhora do Monte and the Belvedere of Grace are mandatory stops.
Perhaps you will choose to see the unique church that acts as the National Pantheon, created by Decree of 26 September 1836, was built with the intent to honor and perpetuate the memory of the Portuguese citizens who have distinguished themselves by service to the country. Admire the walls and the panoramic views over Lisbon at Castelo de Sao Jorge. Walk through Alfama, the oldest district in the city and birthplace of the acclaimed typical Portuguese music style called "Fado." The area is known for its restaurants and fado houses and it is regularly graced by celebrations of popular saints each year.
In the Belem area, there are many monuments and museums you could visit such as the Belem Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries, Jerónimos Monastery; however, the area is also known for its beautiful gardens, wonderful cafes and decorated terraces and the famous house of Pastel de Belém which has made its special delicacies since 1837.
In Baixa and Chiado areas, you will notice it is where traditional commerce, culture and leisure converge. Here, you will find some of the oldest Portuguese shops, prestigious concert halls and theater, as well as terraces and contemporary restaurants. If you like gardens, there is a wonderful one called, "Miradouro São Pedro de Alcantara" which is located at the Mercy parish.
Upon completion of the tour, you will return to your hotel or cruise port.
