About this activity
The tour begins at the starting point to define, either at the hotel or elsewhere, and go to the mouth of the Tagus River, where you can meet the Mosteiro dos Jeronimos, typical Manueline architecture, Belem Tower, the most emblematic of all the historical monuments of Lisbon and the Monument to the Discoveries, tribute to all the great figures that put the name of Portugal by the 4 corners of the world. You have time even to visit the Belém Cultural Centre, which houses the Berardo Museum with one of the most important spoils of modern and contemporary art in Portugal.
We suggest you do not leave Belém without tasting the famous Pastel de Belém, one of the most famous Portuguese sweets. We went to the center of Lisbon and monumental Trade Plaza with its famous arcades and the Triumphal Arch of Rua Augusta. Our private tour continues to climb to the Chiado, the most cosmopolitan shopping area of the capital where you can meet one of the oldest cafes in the capital, Brazilian, and take a picture with the poet Fernando Pessoa (the statue!).
Time to sit at the table and have lunch, we will give you all the tips you need. We continue our visit to the beautiful and luminous Lisbon by Baixa, crossing the Rossio, with its beautiful cobblestone, climbed the chic Avenida da Liberdade, where you will find the shops of the world's biggest names in fashion, skirted the Marquis of Pombal and stopped in Eduardo VII park to enjoy the size of Lisbon. Then we head to the steep, zigzagging streets of the old Lisbon to the impressive Cathedral and the Alfama district, with its quaint houses.
The end of the tour approaches, but not before we take him to the Castle of St. George, where you can admire the setting of the sun. And as this tour is made to your needs, you can simply opt for other places to visit, such as the Park of Nations, the Coach Museum, the National Pantheon, the Church of San Antonio, Santa Justa Elevator, Bairro Alto, the viewpoints with the best view, among many other points.

The tour company didn’t tell us that all attractions were closed on Mondays. The driver was done driving us around the city in 2 hours. He killed time by dropping us for lunch somewhere for 2 hours, and then outside a park near our hotel for an hour. I wish the company told us that all attractions are closed on Monday, we would have booked the tour for some other day.
This was a great experience from beginning to end. John arrived at our hotel promptly at 9:00 to begin the day's tour of Lisbon. He was driving a comfortable luxury car that was perfect for our group of four people. (I don't know much about cars so I don't know the brand, but it was extremely nice.) John began by asking if there were any specific sites we wanted to visit. We mentioned a few but then he added several more that he though we would find interesting. We felt that John accommodated our needs very well. There happened to be a bicycle race in town that day that closed one of the major roads. That made it difficult for him to take us to some of the sights, but he used his extensive knowledge of the city to use back streets to get us to the desired locations. He would drop us off at various sites, give us a time to meet again, and then leave us on our own to explore. That worked very well. We were extremely pleased with our tour of Lisbon. John was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating and the vehicle was comfortable and roomy. A great experience!
