I used this trip as a way of getting from Portimao to Lisbon. For the second time with follow me tours i was waiting where the confirmation email stated but the bus actually stops slightly further away. Ana was the guide and she is one of the best day tour guides I've ever had. Really enthusiastic and clear instructions given all day.
I found this trip to be good value for transportation to/from Lisbon in a comfortable setting, but not very good in terms of the guided tour. Most of the time in Lisbon was free time. The tour guide party was mostly from the bus as we sped by from the arrival point to the final drop off point and only lasted about 30 minutes. Also, the tour guide was pointing out the sites in two languages and jumping between the languages each sentence. While that is impressive, it meant that we missed understanding lots of things because we were driving at regular speed in a closed bus, so you would hear about something you had passed 30 seconds before. The whole guided tour part really felt like you were saying what? wait what was that building? the whole time. The tours should really endeavor to provide one language per group rather than trying to cram in as many people on a multi-language bus as possible. I would recommend this tour for a family wanting convenient inexpensive transfer to/from Lisbon. Read up and prepare yourself ahead of time for the things you want to see.
The Trip was good for a day trip. As others have mentioned, it was quite a bit of driving most of the day was spent on the bus but for the price, you really can't beat it. There are a few hours in the day for you to wander around the city on your own, but it goes by fast, and Lisbon is definitely a city that needs more time to enjoy. The tour guide did a good job of giving information on the city as we drove through.
Ok but long journeys each way
