This is a great tour for your first night in Lisbon. It keeps you up, gives you a sense of the historic area and things you may decide to go back to and then ends with Tapas and a traditional Fado performance.
Madelena led our tour by sheer force of personality, and kept us enthralled the entire time! Her thorough knowledge of the neighborhoods we walked through and her experience as a tour guide imparted us, not only with facts, but with a true flavor of the area and a history and appreciation of Fado. She worked hard to ensure that we had a lovely evening and even gave us her phone number in case we had any other questions or even problems. Our dinner was delicious, the walk through the neighborhoods merry, and the music . . . sublime. A guided experience, shared with newly met visitors, led by an experienced and ebullient guide enabled us to experience so much more than a trip up the hill ourselves.
So good! Food was fantastic! Our guide actually had a better voice than the performers I heard her singing along, but the night was a great experience!
What a fun and informative evening! Walking through the old neighborhoods, sampling the cherry liquor, riding the trolley, dining at a Fado bar -- this tour was a perfect complement to the daytime general tour of Lisbon. The guide was outstanding and gave us a lot of history, culture, and current events.
