Climb to the Moorish Castle where the construction of the first sections of its wall dates from the 8th and 9th century. From the castle, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the whole region. It can’t be missed!
The next stop is the Pena Palace where you can admire a mix of architectural styles in the interior as well as in the exterior. The Pena Palace is one of the best examples of Romanticism from the 19th century. Make sure to have your camera ready to capture the fantastic landscape surrounding the Palace.

A stop in Colares in the cellars of Adega regional de Colares to have a tasting of the best regional wines.
On the way back, we will have the chance to enjoy this unique beach with its famous dunes. A real sanctuary for surf, windsurf and kitesurf.
And of course we can’t leave without visiting the charming town of Cascais. This former fishing village used to be a royal getaway. Nowadays it still is one of the most attractive destinations for the Portuguese and foreign elite thanks to all that it has to offer: boutiques, restaurants, hotels, beaches and much more.

Our Guide, Mr Silva was amazing. In one day he showed us many places. We got to Pena Palace in Sintra, walk a little in Sintra center,. The went to a quiet restaurant in Colares near the wine tasting. From there to Cabo Roca and to Cascais for Pictures. In one day we got a little taste of Sintra. Recommended for those with little timebut that want a incredible day.
Such a packed day we ran out of time to see the Moorish Palace and Palace of Queluz!! In hindsight had we known would have skipped Cascais and the western point as we started with that these rather than the advertised itinerary. Despite this was an amazing day, National Palace, Sintra and Pena Palace were truly beautiful. Wine tasting was good and worth buying a couple of the 4 Euro bottles as really good quality.
Our tour guide arrived grouchy and did not seem eager to please us. He did get us to all the sights on the itinerary, but in hindsight we could have accomplished most of what he did with us on our own, spending longer in some places and eliminating others entirely.
I went on many tours during this vacation but this was by far the best trip. The Pena Palace was beautiful. This was a private tour so the tour guide was flexible about how much time we spent at each location and helped me find the best locations to take critical pictures photography is my hobby. Our guide also gave us ideas of where to eat and what to see at each location so we didn't miss anything. We also had free time on our own to just walk around and explore.
