About this activity
Our Tour always begin at a place previously arranged with our clients, which can be the Hotel Restaurant or anywhere else.
After that we drove to the center of the city, downtown passing in the Restauradores Square the Rossio, Baixa and Comercio Square one of the biggest and most beautiful squares of Europe.
Next we will go up and see the Old City. This area was built around the Castle of St. George and hence grew. The Old City is full of monuments, and the first to visit will be Cathedral Cathedral, Built in the twelfth century, it is one of the oldest monuments of the city.
Then, the tour passes through the viewpoints Santa Luzia and Portas do Sol where you can enjoy an impressive view over the Tagus River. These terraces offer the best views worthy of an illustrated postcard of Lisbon.
Also the best photographs are taken from here, seeing the river and the domes and roofs of the oldest quarter of the city, Alfama.
Continuing our journey in time, we will cross the Graça neighborhood and the tuk-tuk will go to the highest point of the city, Nossa Senhora do Monte. With a breathtaking view over the Castle, you will also be able to have the best view over Lisbon. Ali is the perfect place for your guide to explain the city's growth over the centuries.
Then we will pass through Alfama, the most typical neighborhood of the city, now to enjoy the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora, one of the most beautiful Lisbon attractions and the National Pantheon, a monument full of history, to pay homage to those who have had an important role in the history of Portugal.
You could not miss a visit to the medieval quarter (once a Jewish quarter and a fishing community) and one of the oldest districts in Europe. It is a neighborhood to be lost by alleys and wide, letting itself be guided by the senses. A walking tour within the neighborhood of Alfama will show you the most picturesque of Lisbon and the true soul of the city. And of course this will be the time to enjoy sampling the famous ginjinha, a very genuine and typical Portuguese moment.
Finally we will go to Belém, the historical district of the Discoveries. It was from these banks of the Tagus that Vasco da Gama and other navigators set out on epic voyages, celebrated here through great monuments and museums.
The extraordinary architecture of the Tower of Bethlehem and the Jeronimos Monastery (both World Heritage) is the result of the discovery of the sea route to India and also of the colonization of Brazil and parts of Africa and Asia.
Returning to the city center the tour ends at the starting point or if you prefer we can advise some place to enjoy the rest of your time.

The tour was wonderful. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable. A warning. If you book the time given is Lisbon time. If you are traveling with a cruise the time on the ship will be one hour later. So if you book for 9:30 for example, ship time is 10:30. We booked for 9:30 so we disembarked to be outside the Port terminal by 9, thinking that if the driver showed up early we'd be there. Well 9 on our watches, which was 9 on the ship, was 8 in Lisbon. So we waited an hour + half. This was not the Tuk Tuk company's fault. I think VIATOR needs to explain this to those who book through them.
This was our first tour, after arriving on a red eye to Lisbon. We were tired of sitting on the plane for 7 hours and exhausted. However, from the moment we met our tour guide, Nuno, several hours after arrival, we were rejuvenated; captivated by his knowledge, spirit, genuine personality and warmth. The tour was outstanding in every way, showing us all the important sites and neighborhoods - winding through the narrow streets or Lisbon. Nuno was also very helpful in offering us suggestions for the rest of our trip. This was one of the very best tours we have ever had- highly recommend.
Fantastic way to see the sights of Lisbon . Pick up from hotel was great service!,, VERY lucky with our guide Joel who was knowledgeable, fun and friendly ... perfect person for this experience!!!!! Would definitely recommend this tour and hope you get Joel!
We only had a day to visit Lisbon. Nounos was very knowledgeable about the history of Lisbon. He was personating characters and involving our teenagers in the story telling. He was a really great guide. We visited the old, « not so old » and new part of the city. Our three hours tour by Tuk Tuk was the best way to visit the city as there are a lot of hills and we didn’t have much time to visit Lisbon. Thank you Nounos for the experience!
We only had a day to see as much of Lisbon as possible and had very little idea of what to visit. We were picked up from our hotel by our guide Miguell Fuller. He asked us what sort of things we were interested in and then took us on an excellent guided tour of Lisbon covering the main places to visit. The Tuk Tuk was electric, quiet and comfortable. The guidance was both entertaining and informative and there was more information available from Miguell if we wanted it. We were able to visit the places of interest for as long as we wanted and Miguell would be waiting for us when we returned including being armed with the best tasting Pastel de nata cakes from the famous Lisbon bakery! We could not have had a better guide. Well wort the money.
lovely trip driver was excellent told us all about the places of interest brilliant ! liked up at the church of santiargo and the main square
Our three hour tour was the perfect way to see Lisbon without a single complaint from my 11 and 13 year olds! Lisbon is beautiful and navigating it on our own would have been tedious. This was the perfect experience for our family of four. And our guide was knowledgeable and a great companion on our morning in the city Centre.
