A part from the journey to Fátima, which takes about 1h30, and the return to Lisbon, this is a walking tour. You will have plenty of time to visit the Sanctuary, take photos and relax during the day. And if we have time, we may also visit Alcobaça!
About Fátima:
The Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Fátima gives expression to the request of Nossa Senhora do Rosário, alluded in August 13, 1917 and expressly stated in the appearance of 13 October of the same year to Lúcia de Jesus, Francisco Marto and Jacinta Marto: " I want to tell you to do a chapel built here in my honor, I am the Lady of the Rosary "(First Memoir of Sister Lucia). The chapel was erected in 1919 on the site of the 1917 apparitions at Cova da Iria, and since then, the space of the sanctuary was being built in response to the significant influx of pilgrims.
And if we have time... Mosteiro de Alcobaça
If we still have the time and the will, we can also visit Alcobaça. The Monastery of Santa Maria de Alcobaça, also known as Royal Abbey of Santa Maria de Alcobaça or more simply as the Monastery of Alcobaça, is the first fully Gothic work built on Portuguese soil. It was started in 1178 by Cister monks. It is classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and a National Monument since 1910.
