Your tour begins in Sitgo Belém station, near "Padrão dos Descobrimentos" (Monument to the Discoveries). 

Belém is known as the historical district of the Age of Discovery. Vasco da Gama and other explorers started their voyages here and those events are celebrated today by grand monuments and museums. The sensational architecture of the Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery (both World Heritage Monuments) are the result of the discovery of the sea route to to India, the opening of trade with Japan, the colonization of Brazil and parts of Africa and Asia. Belém is also Lisbon's museum district, with the one-of-a-kind Coach Museum filled with royal fairytale vehicles, the Berardo Museum showcasing a world-class collection of international contemporary and modern art, and the new and iconic MAAT. Despite all these attractions, it's a pastry shop that receives most of the visitors. At Antiga Confeitaria de Belém (simply known as "Pastéis de Belém" or "Belém pastries") you may devour one or several of Lisbon's most famous custard tarts. You can find many copies around Lisbon, but this 1837 family recipe is still a well-kept secret. 

After Belém Sitway Tour you will hop on the sailboat and start a journey across the Tagus River. It will be an unforgettable experience. You will see the monuments and the sights from the river by the warm sunset lights, giving them all different colours.

Being able to sail one of the most historic rivers in Europe is also a trip to the past. Do you see the 25th of April Bridge? It's one of the most remarkable landmarks of the city. You may think that bridge looks like The Golden Gate Bridge, in San Francisco... and you're right. We will tell you why!
