About this activity
RIVERSIDE TOUR (Cais do Sodré to Belem):

A perfect tour to discover the importance of Tagus river in Portuguese history, the longest one in the Iberian Peninsula, flowing 626 miles long (1,007 km) between Spain and the Atlantic at Lisbon. Also, Tagus River was the starting point on the route of the Age of Discovery.

The biggest sailors started here their adventures across unknown seas, such as Vasco da Gama, on 15th century.

This ride begins at Cais do Sodré near Praça do Comércio ( City Historical Center), an important and bohemian neighborhood that connects everyone into the city. Always along the river, you'll pass trough Lisbon and explore it, feeling like a local.

Look at the other side of the river, you will see the King Christ Statue, an Catholic monument and shrine representing Jesus Christ overlooking the city.

Discover new museums such as Oriente Museum, with Orient's collections as the main theme, in the historical, religious, anthropological and artistic aspects. Or if you prefer to visit something more technological, that's MAAT, the museum of Art, Architecture and Technology.

We'll take you under the 25th of April Bridge, one of the most remarkable landmarks of the city. You may think that bridge looks like The Golden Gate Bridge, in San Francisco... and you're right. We will tell you why!

Getting a little bit more inside of Lisbon, The Docas Area will be waiting for you. As it's known it hosts the main nightlife centers of the capital.

Our tour finishes at Monument to the Discoveries, in Belém. A mosaic representing the word's map inside a compass rose indicating the routes of the Portuguese explorers. Facing the Belem Tower on one side, and Jerónimos Monastery and it's monumental gardens on the other side.
