Rather than paying three times as much through our cruise line, we booked through Viator and didnt regret a thing. Coming off the cruise ship, we had a short walk to the meeting place to take a shuttle out of the port. (The port of Livorno is VERY active, and its not possible to walk from the pier into the city.) The shuttle dropped us at the local transfer station where we boarded a bus to Florence. The bus was clean and the driver was pleasant. (Note that there is no bathroom on the bus, however.) After an hour and a half ride, we arrived at a parking lot adjacent to the train station of Florence. Our guide, Chiara walked us thru the maze to get to the city streets where we explored Venice for three hours. We got back on the bus and then traveled to Pisa. I have to say, we were not excited about Pisa. I mean, all we though was there was a building ready to fall over. But it turned out to be a gorgeous stop. The city is lovely. And the tower truly is spectacular. It was well worth stopping for. All in all, the tour was fantastic. Chiara was a GREAT guide. And we saved a little coin by booking through Viator.

Where the bus parks and the walk to get to Pisa involves many turns. We couldn’t find our way back and kept asking for help but no one spoke English. Finally able to ask the guys who sell stuff and they spoke English and directed us back. They should have the group meet right at Pisa and walk back together. Pretty scary. My husband wasn’t feeling good that day so made it even more difficult.

the lady Guide was very informative, she dropped us gave us the time to take pictures and was very helpful in directing the way.

Great way to see Florence from the cruise ship. Schedule a little tight but if you reserve your museum tours ahead of time it may help. Friendly informative guides. Don’t forget to tip them.

This is a good option for cruisers. You do have to pay for a shuttle at the cruise port to get to the viator shuttle bus ( I think it was around 5 euro pp for us). Wifi wasn't the best on the bus. Instructions were clear about where to meet the bus again. On our bus they waited for people that were late and tried to contact them but I've read other reviews where they left if you were late. So it's best to be early to the bus. Overall, good simple transfer service.

It's a bus ride to Florence and then onto Pisa. There was no added value here from the driver or coordinating person on board. I would recommend skipping Pisa. It's a tourist trap that has no personality. Florence was spectacular but finding the bus for the return ride was challenging.

The pick up point was poorly described and made it difficult to find adding unnecessary stress on vacation. Our poorly groomed bus tour guide had very poor English. We could hardly understand what she was saying. There was very little information given about Florence or Piza. There is such a rich history and so much to see in Florence. Yet there was very little information given,. Boring ride. Save your money for a real tour guide in Florence and get your own transportation.
