A colourful palette of flavours, familiarity, relaxation, nature, history and adventure – this is what the town of Kamnik, lying in the bosom of the Kamnik Alps, has to offer visitors. As early as the Middle Ages. People like living in Kamnik, while visitors like to return to the foot of the mountains.

Today Kamnik has become the capital of the Slovene craft beer scene, mostly due to its very high-quality mountain water supply. When we visit a local brewery we will also enjoy a proper Carniolan lunch and take a look at the local sights.

Vrhnika is located in Central Slovenia region on the western edge of Ljubljana Marsh. Its landscape is green, featuring Ljubljana Marsh, surrounding hills, and Ljubljanica river. The river rises at Vrhnika and characterizes the province.

Our point of interest here is the Human Fish Brewery.

The Human Fish Brewery is one of the first of many boutique craft breweries that popped up in Slovenia during the last 10 years. They offer a wide variety of special and seasonal beers in their own little pub next to the brewery. Along with a craft beer tasting, you will also learn a lot about the brewing process and beer culture in Slovenia.
