This tour was fast moving and covered a lot of ground over the course of the day. While you could not spend must time at each site it did allow us to get a flavor of the beautiful city of London. The simple box lunch that was included was pretty basic but did save us time and allowed more time to see the sights. If you only have one full day to see and explore London then I would highly recommend this tour. Our local guide, Ruth, and coach driver, Massimo, did a great job!
Our day started badly with our guide seeming to have a problem checking in the last group of travelers, some had premium seats but the rest also wanted to sit with them. Getting them on the bus kept us late. The Boss appeared and gave them the option to travel, or not. Our guide, Susan, appeared to waste time, e.g. when we arrived at the Tower of London, she talked for a while before telling us that she had to go and check that we would all get on to the boat we were booked on to take us to Greenwich. Off she went. When she eventually came back, she then told us that she had to go and get our tickets for the Tower. Off she went again. We wasted a full half hour waiting around. When touring St Paul's or the Tower, if you were not right next to her, it was a waste of time, as you couldn't hear what she was saying. When we got to Greenwich, she took us in the opposite direction, to sit us all down and tell us repeatedly, that she was going to give out the London Eye tickets and that we should make sure we do not lose them as they were very expensive. Repeated.....Then it was time to go to our destination. Why, when we got off the boat could we not have gone to find out about Greenwich meantime straight away, and been given our London Eye tickets whilst waiting for the Thames cruise part of the tour. We were told that we wouldn't have to wait when we got to the London Eye, as our tickets meant we didn't have to queue....that's a laugh. Poor guide. A lot of wasted time. Packed lunch was quite acceptable. Places and events covered were good. Bus driver was good.
This was a really good tour. The tour guide was superb and watched after us and explained the historical aspects of buildings. I would have really like to tour inside Buckingham Palace so that's why no 5 circle rating.
Very well organised and guided tour. The guide was excellent.Recommended tour for all ages. Please keep it up.
Really enjoyed our full day tour. Godfrey, our guide, was friendly and informative. During the river cruise, we stopped at Greenwich, which I don't recall seeing in the description. What a great surprise to see the famous Cutty Sark ship and stand on the Prime Meridian location. Topping off the trip with the London Eye made the day even better.
Tony was a fantastic guide! Very knowledgeable and helpful. Loved that they started at Buckingham Palace so we could get great pictures before the crowds arrived!
I booked this tour on September 10. Tour was basically as providing the transport and tickets to the attractions. The guide Mr David kept talking to a family in Spanish most of the time while the majority of tourists were English speaking. The tour can be upgraded by providing whispers or similar devices so the visitor can follow what the guide is telling even they are behind. It was very hard to hear what the guide was telling. Also the River cruise was on the commercial passenger water taxi not a cruise with guide or narration with no narration by guide. We were taken to Greenwich 30 minute to go and 45 minutes to come back. We were given only 15 minutes to explore a navy museum children learning center. It was waste of time. I was disappointed in tour.
Started with upper level complaining loudly about not hearing. Got worse when we had to walk a long way to Changing of the Guard. Lost track of the guide. Finally found him. Checked in. He had a phone call to find another lost member. He never came back. We got left there. We were told they had gone on to the Tower of London and we had to make our way there. Couldn't find them there. No one answered the phone. We have yet to see the afternoon stops. Very poorly handled.
The London Eye is outstanding. I would have liked more opportunities to get off the bus and take photos especially since the buses are unable to drive in some places.
