Bus was 45 minutes late and the paid audio guide included in trip was also declined at stonehenge. The staff was reasonable.
Stonehenge is about 2 hours away from central London. It is much easier to take a tour and leave the travel arrangements to someone else than hassle it on your own. This tour was only 1/2 day so you don't feel like you are on a bus all day. They take you to the site and point out sites of interest on the way and some Stonehenge history. Upon arrival, they give you ample amount of time to spend at Stonehenge before the trip back to London. Reasonably priced, it turned out to be the best way to see Stonehenge while we were staying in London and had limited amount of time to spare.
Stone Hinge was what I expected we injoyed seeing the rocks. What was disappointing was wen we were there we expected to get head sets to give history. Your company said we would receive them. Not you might if there is enough. Well the driver said that did not have any for the group. They were to busy. I went in side to ask and they said yes we have them for 3 pounds each.
Stone hence was fantastic. Would have enjoyed it more BUT it was a 93degree day in England and the tour bus had NO AIRCONDITIONG! An hour into the trip we began sweltering, asked the bus driver to turn up the ac... well long story short, it was broken. Two and a half terrible hours to stone hence. Obviously got no relief at the site in the 93 degree weather. The bus was even hotter on the 2 1/2 hour ride home, felt I'll. The bus driver was able to get the ac fixed on the way back for the top of the bus, bottom suffered.
We took the 8:30 am bus on 6/30/19. The bus ride was comfortable, taking about 1.5 hours to arrive at the Stonehenge Visitors’ Center. We arrived at 10:15. The driver gave us no information where to go to get the audio guides and shuttle to the actual site. He just said we needed to be back to the bus by 11:45, for a 12:00 departure. It was an extremely crowded morning, with hundreds of visitors! The line to get the shuttle was 40 minutes long. If we waited, we would have only had a few minutes to actually see Stonehenge. We stumbled upon a shuttle for individuals (not those one tour buses) by pure luck, so we had about 30 minutes to tour the site. That was the bare minimum time you need to circle it with the audio guide. We also met a kind worker who gave us headsets at the individual tour entrance, as our tour guide didn’t tell us where to get them for group tours, saving us precious time. The line for the return shuttle bus was extremely long, so we headed back on foot. About a 25 minute run/walk! We arrived back at the bus at exactly 12:00, with our tour mates, but no driver to be found! Apparently, people had complained about the lack of time allowed at the site, so he randomly moved up the departure to 1:00, infuriating those of us that RAN back to get there by the aforementioned 12:00 time. We were furious but at least then we were able to then tour the visitors’ center for a few minutes, which was very nice. All in all, DO NOT take this tour in the busy summer months unless you are guaranteed at least 2-3 hours at the site.
Our driver B (sp?) was very nice and gave great instructions. The tricky part was finding where to meet the bus. We were to meet at the Victoria Station but where the voucher stated was not where we met the bus.
B was an awesome driver. Trip was great and I had a wonderful experience! Stonehenge was beautiful!!
We had a great ride to Stonehenge with Carl. He was very funny and navigated the streets on London with ease. If your short on time but want to see Stonehenge this is a great option. Hop on the bus and go!
The weather was cold and rainy. But the driver was friendly and made the long trip enjoyable. The stone audio tour was very informative.
Very informational!
Our driver was great we had to take a detour because of an accident,he did a great job getting us home
It was a pretty long day just to see Stonehenge, but it was a small price to pay to see a Wonder of the World! The Trip there and back was longer than I expected, but it was comfortable. We had plenty of time to check out the monument. Fortunately, I didn't care about the gift shop and I read quickly, otherwise it may not have been enough time for some people. But it didn't matter to me!
