Munich Oktoberfest - 7 Day Coach & Camping Tour

Day 1 - Thursday - Depart London

We depart from Victoria Embankment (Google Maps), by the Thames near Embankment tube station at 1430 (2:30pm). Check in at 1400 (2pm). The drive to Dover for a mid afternoon sailing to Calais. Once in France we take a leisurely drive across Belgium entering Germany in the wee hours. All our coaches are complete with video and loo.

Day 2 - Friday - Arrival in Munich

Now the fun really starts. After arriving at the Munich camping ground "Thalkirchen" mid-morning you will be issued with your pre-erected tent with airbed and sleeping bag (second-hand but cleaned) and then you've got the day free to party! You can either join the mob at the camp bar or perhaps head into town to the Augustiner or Hofbrauhaus permanent city beerhalls for the pre-beerfest party.

Day 3 - Saturday - Beerfest Opening Day

After breakfast we head into the famous Oktoberfest grounds for a huge day. At noon the Munich mayor taps the first keg ... then it's time to party!! PP Shuttle coaches will take you from the camp to the fest grounds.

Day 4 - Sunday - Dachau and Andechs Tours and Beerhalls

After breakfast you can either head straight into the beerfest where the main Oktoberfest "Rifleman's" parade occurs this morning. Or let us take you on a very sobering experience, a self guided tour of the infamous Dachau concentration camp, north of Munich. This was the first of its kind built by Hitler. In the afternoon we change the mood completely by taking you to the beautiful Andechs beer monastery - the home of the famous boch beer. Then it's back to the beerhalls for the night's festivities. These excursions - like all our shuttles - are free.

Day 5 - Monday - Another Oktoberfest Day! or Explore the great City of Munich

After your fully cooked breakfast it is time again, at your leisure, to take in the Oktoberfest or enjoy a visit to Munich's many great beergardens. Some of these are within walking distance of the campground. Or you may want to head off and explore Munich. Our helpful PP crew will be able to point you in the right direction.

Day 6 - Tuesday - More Beer? & Departure for London

After breakfast you have the day free to have a final look at the city. Perhaps a visit to the BMW factory or the huge Deutsches museum. For the hardy, perhaps a final visit to the beerhalls before we depart Munich late afternoon for a night drive back to the English Channel

Day 7 - Wednesday - Arrive London

We catch a morning ferry back to the White Cliffs of Dover then on to London arriving back late morning.
