Stop At: Burford Library 86A High Street, Burford OX18 4QF England
Stop at the beautiful town on Burford in Oxfordshire, the southern gateway to the Cotswolds. Located on the banks of the river Windrush, it was the site of a fortified ford in Anglo-Saxon times. The town grew to be an important crossroads and very wealthy wool town.
Duration: 20 minutes
Stop At: Bourton on the Water, Windrush river, Bourton-on-the-Water England
Bourton on the Water is a charming English village in the heart of the Cotswolds, often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ because of the attractive little bridges that cross the gently flowing River Windrush.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Broadway Tower, Middle Hill Parking: what3words ///pebble.crouches.galaxies, Broadway WR12 7LB England
Before heading to Broadway Tower enjoy a picnic lunch at Fish Hill Picnic Place, Broadway.
Broadway Tower, standing 65ft high, is the second highest point in the Cotswolds and sits dramatically on top of an ancient beacon site. The brainchild of Capability Brown, Broadway Tower was built for the Earl of Coventry in 1798 by renowned 18th Century architect James Wyatt. Whilst here enjoy a little stroll in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside.
Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
Pass By: High Street Broadway, High Street, Broadway England
Often referred to as the 'Jewel of the Cotswolds', Broadway lies beneath Fish Hill on the western Cotswold escarpment, in the county of Worcestershire and close to the border of Gloucestershire. As its name suggests, Broadway is dominated by a wide main street lined with independent shops, restaurants, hotels and antique shops.
Stop At: University of Oxford, University Offices 1 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JD England
Our last stop is Oxford, famous for its university – the oldest in the English-speaking world- and its unique architecture, which features notable examples of every architectural period stretching as far back as Saxon times.
Wander through the cobbled streets on a walking tour of the city with our expert tour guide, who will bring the charm and history of this fantastic, ancient city of life. Along the way, you’ll see the beautiful Christ Church College – where scenes from Harry Potter were filmed.
