About this activity
Explore the streets of London with Paddington Bear™, the lovable fictional character from the children’s books by Michael Bond, 1st published in 1958. In the wake of the latest (and second) “Paddington Bear” movie, the walking tour follows in the paw prints of the talking bear, visiting London neighbourhoods from more than 20 books.
It’s over 50 years since Aunt Lucy went into “The Home for Retired Bears” in Lima, and Paddington Bear™ left darkest Peru to stow away in a ship’s lifeboat with nothing but marmalade to survive. He was eventually found on Paddington Station in London by Mr. and Mrs. Brown, who took him home to live with them and named him “Paddington” after the station.
Learn about Paddington’s adventures as you explore the streets of London, and hear how the StudioCanal movies were made. Test your Paddington Bear™ knowledge along the way visiting locations that include the site of Mr. Gruber’s antique store, the station that Paddington arrives at , the inspirations for Windsor Gardens, home of the Brown family and much more.
End at Paddington Station with a look at the statue of Paddington Bear™ in the concourse. Go to the station’s Paddington shop to browse the Paddington Bear™ products, and buy some souvenirs of your Paddington Bear™ adventure. As part of the tour you will be catching a bus so adults will need a Zone 1 travelcard.
