Stop At: Changing of the Guard, Buckingham Palace, London SW1A 1AA England
Your regal tour begins at the Duke of York Column, located in St. James’, where you’ll greet your guide, don a personal headset, and receive a historical overview of the Changing of the Guard ceremony.
Many tourists make the mistake of viewing the ceremony outside of Buckingham Palace. However on this tour, handpicked vantage points ensure you get the best views of the royal tradition while listening to commentary that explains each part of the performance.
Marvel at the shimmering coats of the household cavalry as their riders control the horses with expert precision; capture photographs of the iconic red and black attire of the Queen’s foot soldiers; and, move quickly between vantage points in a small group of only 15 people.
Your tour concludes outside of Buckingham Palace.
Please note: The Changing of the Guard ceremony is subject to changes in date, time and cancellation at the discretion of British authorities. Cancellation due to bad weather is not announced before 11am. Even when cancelled, customers will still see a ‘wet change’ during which the guards march but without the usual music and parade.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour of the changing of the Guard led by the very knowledgable Nathan. Not only did Nathan direct us to the best viewing locations, but filled the time with wonderful stories of the history of the Royal Family and Buckingham Palace. With a great sense of humor, Nathan made this tour educational and fun!
excellent, great guide, knew history etc. stationed us at key points to see most of ceremony. did not see actual changing of guard.
We missed the tour because we kept getting conflicting directions to the Statue where we were to meet from the LOCAL people. We walked in circles for about 20 minutes. By that time we missed the group and had to rush to make the Changing of the quard on our own.
I am very glad I booked this tour. It was nice to have a tour guide that new the details of the changing of the guard. We saw a lot more than we would have if we had not have booked this tour. I highly recommend it.
Because of rain, we weren't able to see the actual changing of the guard but did get to see them in formation. The weather wasn't anyone's fault, but it did make for a lesser experience.
A great way to experience the different changing of the guards. It's not just Buckingham palace! Nathan was very knowledgeable.
our tour was with Michael and City Wonders (booked thru Viator) - it was AWESOME! informative and cool and thorough- def behind the scenes - highlight of trip- def recommend!
Do not spend money for nothing. You can see changing of the Guard for free from the same spot. Very disappointment! Definitely not recommend!
Nice weather, the best guide - Jennifer!!
City Wonder was the tour group and Sandy our guide. She kept us informed and moving on what was happening or going to happen!
Tour guide didn't like questions bc it wasn't following her script but got you very good views of this that i never would have seen without. Highly recommend
I would highly recommend this tour, our guide Gavin knew exactly where to stand to see the changing of the horsemen and guards. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining. If I didn’t go on this tour I would have no idea where to stand or where to go.
Tour guide was excellent and very knowkedgeable.
