About this activity
Meet your local guide and friendly small group at Piccadilly Circus at 2pm, for this deep dive into the alleyways, courtyards, and byways of London's Soho neighborhood. Besides landmarks like St. Anne's Church, the French House, Chinatown, and Soho Square, you'll find out where the famous and infamous lived, worked, and played.
Stop at the club where Marilyn Monroe used a double to escape the paparazzi. Step into London’s red light district and learn about the 'English Hugh Hefner', who brought the sex industry to town. Discover which world leader established his World War II headquarters at the French House, and why there are statues of noses found all over the capital.
Find out where Karl Marx lived and wrote sections of Das Kapital, visit pubs frequented by George Orwell, and admire the former home of the legendary lover Casanova.
A trip through Soho is a trip through musical history. See the house where Mozart lived as a child prodigy. Visit a venue where legends like Jimi Hendrix played, and see Paul McCartney's business premises on Soho Square. Your last stop will be a bar made famous by John Lennon and Eric Clapton – Keith Moon from The Who was banned from here for life.
The tour finishes at 4:30pm. Feel free to accompany your guide back to Piccadilly Circus or continue exploring Soho's pubs and nightlife at your own pace.

Really enjoyed the pub tour - Harley was a great guide, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We had lovely people in our group - it was a joy chatting to them. The pubs were fascinating - tried some 'different' lagers. Had a fab time - thoroughly recommend it.
Linton really gave us a well-rounded view of Soho. Complete historical survey from the industrial revolution to the rockin 60s and 70s. Good recommendations on pubs/beers/things to do in the area and other activities around London. Followed his advice for the rest of my trip and it didn't lead me astray. Bonus: made it quite easy to find the tour group in busy Piccadilly Circus and clever with the jokes.
Had an amazing day on this tour. So much to learn. Glenn was an incredible tour guide who had so much knowledge to share. Would highly recommend this tour if you want to discover great off the beaten path pubswith someone who clearly cares about telling his history..
if you looking for a great tour..easily recommended. Very informative and also greatly entertaining. Well done Glen!!
This was something I chose just to learn about an area I had not been to before. Boy, was it ever fun! The meeting place at the Statue of Eros in Piccadilly Square was so easy to find. Sam, our guide, had a big red and white umbrella that we could not miss!! I was a little concerned on our 7th day in London that walking would be tough, but every time I thought about it, we were at another pub...a place to sit and learn about the very cool history of the establishment and more importantly, what famous people had frequented the place over the decades or centuries. Sam was very, very interesting.....a great storyteller and someone who was always very willing to answer our questions, I am a huge Beatles fan, Sam was kind enough to show me MPL..Paul McCartney's Soho business offices. My daughter and I had a lovely time and learned a lot about the history of the Soho district. We visited 5 great pubs, all beautiful and full of stories. The Ship on Wardour Street is so close to Trident Studios where David Bowie recorded..what an extra surprise for a music fan!! I would recommend taking this tour if you are looking for something fun!
