We enjoyed the Thames River Cruise; however, we really did not need the day pass. We spent much more time on land seeing sites. If doing again, we would purchase just a one way fare and ride the main length of the river. If you want a lazy day and to just sit, then this attraction would be for you.
I thoroughly enjoyed my cruise. The ability to hop on and off was magical. I was able to spend time looking at the things I wanted to. The commentary on the boat was also excellent. The chap spoke well, slowly, audibly and we all enjoyed him.
We would never miss an opportunity to take the Thames River Cruise! It is relaxing, it's a chance to rest your legs after busy London walking excursions, and it's absolutely wonderful to see the buildings and architecture along the water...fully explained by booklets with maps, and if lucky, an on-board narrator! The price is super affordable and because it is a hop-on Hop-off, you can customize it to your own timetable. There is a snack bar, so a little bag of munchies and cold drink or cup of tea make the cruise that much more enjoyable!
Tour is great, HOWEVER...Viator does NOT give you a ticket. You get a voucher for a ticket and have to wait in line with everyone else to get your day ticket. As I did not understand that, I waited twenty minutes in line and missed the boat and had to wait another 40 minutes for the next one.. No biggie, but I wish I knew
Awesome! Great travelling at the end of October. Loved the commentary, found it humourous and anecdotal loved just moseying around Greenwich Village. Had lunch and hopped back on and got out at St. Pauls. Lovely day.
This river cruise, with the crew's commentary, was both enjoyable and informative. It provided a good general overview of the bridges and historic sites along the river with the convenience of our scheduling we had a 24 hour pass. It was a great introduction to London, for us!!
Great way to experience all the major sights. We used it to just view them firstly then when we decided what we wanted just jumped off. They ran frequently enough to not be waiting long for the next boat
Outstanding is a poor word to describe this cruise. We had booked for this cruise while still at India, and the process of getting the vouchers exchanged for tickets and boarding the boat was pretty painless. The boat itself was a spotlessly clean and well kept craft. The commentary not the recorded one, but a live commentary was sardonic, with dry and self deprecating humor, and very very enjoyable. We did not do the hop-on-hop-off portions, opting to stay with the boat through the downstream run, and for a part of the upstream run. The history of the buildings, the waterfront pubs and quays, the bridges, and the amazingly built apartment blocks were entertaining and informative to learn about. Highly recommended for anyone who wishes to see London from a different perspective
