The Birds of Fuglefjella - wildlife photography tour
This is the perfect trip for all who like hiking and enjoy wildlife photography birds. Driving towards Svalbard Global Seed Vault, you will then enter Bjørndalen, the Bear Valley, where you will start your hike to see the birds of Fuglefjella. You will first cross a river and then continue up the mountain towards the towering Bird Mountain. Once there you will see thousands of nesting birds. You will have good chances of seeing the Svalbard Reindeers and Arctic Foxes on the way to the top of the bird cliff. When you reach the plateau at approximately 430 metres above the sea level, you will stand on top of the biggest bird cliff in the area and get an incredible view over Isfjorden and its surrounding glaciers in the distance. We might see little auk, geese, fulmars, different species of seagulls and, with a little luck, also Atlantic puffins. You'll have lunch outside, and later tea and coffee, enjoy the view and eventually, when all memory cards are full, you'll make our way back to Longyearbyen.
