The number of cemeteries discovered so far has reached 63 cemeteries of varying sizes ranging from a small hole in the ground to a complex burial complex with more than 120 burial chambers inside. These tombs were all used to bury the kings and princes of the modern state in ancient Egypt, as well as some nobles and those who had ties with the ruling family at the time. The royal tombs are characterized by drawings and inscriptions of ancient Egyptian mythology that illustrate the religious beliefs and the ecclesiastical ceremonies of the time. All the discovered tombs were opened and looted in antiquity, yet they have proved to be compelling evidence of the power and prosperity of the kings of that time.
