The trip was very rich and the guide was perfect, we really enjoyed the tour got proper education about the history of both cities but the only negative feedback I would give is that the lunch was really bad it was tasteless no options the soup was bad the main course was bad and the dessert was also bad
You see the Avila walls from a distant viewpoint, you explore Avila, there is adequate time to walk on the walls and look down. You don't really need to walk around the entire city to get the experience and I thought the time allotment was appropriate. The Segovia portion was very impressive. The lunch stop has many options available other than the one provided by the tour. We had a toddler with us so we went to a nearby fast food restaurant. We had plenty of time at the aqueduct, were able to explore the city some, then a wonderful tour of the cathedral and alcazar. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we went at a comfortable pace. This was a great tour.
The guide did a great job on providing all the historic information about the region. We surprisingly received one complimentary hot eggy dish an one glass of beverage, even though we did not pay for the meal option. The 2 thousand years old roman waterway wall is amazing high and big. But guide's direction to get to the Catedral de Segovia was not very clear so we almost got lost in town and nearly missed the group gathering. Alcázar de Segovia is very beautiful. I wish I could have stayed inside longer to taking more photos. Highly recommend if you have one full day in Madrid without any where to go plan.
Our guide was wonderful, informative, helpful with a good sense of humor. Great trip overall! Would recommend absolutely recommend it.
It took about 1 hour 15 minutes to from Madrid to Avila. We have about 2 hours in Avila for a guided walk and 20 minutes on the wall. It is a bit short on the wall for our visit. Then an hour drive to Segovia. We got a tapa but did not opt for lunch. We ordered suckling pig and lamb leg ourselves. If you have meals, then there are only 20 minutes at the aqueduct which is a bit short. The walk to Alcazar is very nice and the visit to Alcazar was valuable. Overall, this is the only way to visit both places within a day unless you drive or have a private tour.
Avila and Segovia are both incredible places to visit, and we found this tour to be a very good way to get the highlights of both cities. Our tour guide was Marta and she was great, very knowledgeable, energetic and helpful. The tour starts in Avila, where you visit the walls and walk through several monuments and landmarks. Then you head to Segovia where you have lunch the segovian pig was amazing and walk past the aqueduct through the city to finish your visit in the Alcazar. My only complain is at times the tour feels a bit rushed, specially during the visit to Avila. Be aware that you will walk a lot! All in all a great tour to 2 beautiful cities, totally recommended.
Really good tour. Avila is great. Segovia, especially the aqueduct, was incredible. Skip the free tapas for lunch that is included in the tour, and go to one of many fine and famous restaurants at the base of the aqueduct.
Great day for sure hitting all spots to see in these two great cities. I would have liked the tour to last an hour longer to have more time to see Avila, having felt rushed through the stops there. Otherwise the tour guide was informative and gave great explanations in both Spanish and English. Her knowledge and guidance in the Cathedral and Alcazar of Segovia were kept our interest and gave good detail.
