Barcelona people were more friendly and more of them spoke English than in Madrid. The one thing we wanted to see Parc Guell did not get to see. I had been there before and the bus stopped at the entrance and no fee to get in, years ago. This time hop on hop off bus stopped 6 blocks away, all up hill, had a hard time walking this as am somewhat handicapped, walking with a cane. Plus there is an entrance fee not bad. however it was filled and next entrance was not until 5PM, Could not wait as had to catch a train back to Madrid. Then had to walk all the way back to the Hop on Hop off bus.
The address on the voucher for me to pick up the ticket was wrong. It took me a while to find it.
Everything went very smoothly. Had a bit of difficulty finding Julia tours as they had moved but had we checked our e-mail it would have been easier. One day in Barcelona isn't enough and is exhausting.
The high speed train left Madrid on time, arrived Barcelona on time and the return trip was also on time and arrived Madrid early. The train was comfortable, it had a trolley service for food and drinks as well as a dining car, it was a lovely way to travel, if in Spain l would certainly repeat the journey, when we arrived in Barcelona we arranged our own tour of the city
