About this activity
Our guide picks you up at the hotel at 8am to take you in a 2-hour private transfer to León City. During the transfer, you won’t get bored. Passing from the capital to small towns, from buildings to crop plantations will keep your camera on! Also, once we get closer to León, you will see how the landscape is decorated by volcanoes.
The first stop is León Viejo where remain the ruins of the first city of León, which was destroyed by a volcano eruption and earthquake. Here, you learn about the history between Spanish conquerors and natives, volcanoes, and local economy. Also, take a time to take impressive pictures of Momotombo Volcano standing on the shores of Lake Xolotlán!
We continue on our way up to León City. The tour includes central park, former native town, the central market, the house museum of Rubén Dario-father of modernism and international recognized poet-. Also, go to the roof of the Cathedral and learn about the history that is hidden in its design and details. The view from the top is unique!
